Georgia Alpha Chapter Home Page

The Georgia Alpha Chapter of the National Residence Hall Honorary was founded in 1998. Since then, UGA NRHH has been helping to promote recognition, leadership, and service to UGA and the Athens community. We are a very active chapter and we host service events, social programs for members, and many other unique events and programs that benefit the NRHH general body, the University Community, and the Athens Area.

Here's an extra service opportunity:

Dawgs Ditch the Dumpster is an initiative that Hillel of UGA is partaking in partnership of University Housing, RHA, Office of Sustainability, and other student organizations. We will be setting up Storage Bins (like PODS) around resident communities to collect unwanted materials that residents have in their rooms. Everything collected will then be donated back to the Athens Community.

Each station is in desperate need of volunteers to man the stations. All one needs to do to man a station is to sit by the Storage Bin and process any items donated. While waiting, volunteers can study for their finals or do play on their laptop. You can even sign up with friends!

If you sign up to volunteer for this to fulfill your service requirement please put NRHH in the comment section. There will be an NRHH sign-in sheet at the table to confirm that you volunteered.

Passive Service:

They are also in need of donation signs. These will count as a passive service. If you want to make a yard sign, please make one that simply says Donation Center and has an arrow that will point to the station. Making 10-15 of these would be a great help in promoting these stations to residents when the time comes. The signs will be due April 28th in the RHA office in the passive service bin.
